- You will be assigned to attend a particular session along with other people in your residence hall.
What to expect at the Tapestry of Possibilities session you will attend
- A stimulating, engaging, and thought-provoking performance by “Ordinary People”, a theater troupe made up of Cornell students, and dedicated to raising awareness about issues of oppression.
- A post-performance discussion moderated by Cornell administrators, faculty, and staff members. All points of view are welcomed. You will be invited to share your thoughts, perspectives, and reactions to the material presented in the performance.
- The opportunity to stretch your “comfort zone”. This means we will ask you to reflect on the norms and values that you are used to, and to increase your awareness of norms and values that others are used to.
- The opportunity to be part of a dialogue about the ways in which people who adhere to diverse belief systems – which sometimes may seem to be mutually exclusive - can coexist in a respectful, collaborative, and celebratory manner.
